Hi all,

I am new to network - it looks great so far.

I have got the sample file working with gider.

I cannot seem to get it to work with media server.

I am running the latest 0.983 (?) of netremote and media server 1.0.159 protocol 0.9. Netremote will talk to the server - here is the log below.

Any help would be appreciated.

Media Server? I think you have misunderstood something. You don't use that. You use the regular MC9 with Remote Server. And Remote Server does not give any feedback. You need to go into "Startup Settings" in MC9 and set up Remote Server to start on a port (I usually use 8080, but that's up to you). Then you should be able to connect to it. 8)

Yup, that was the ticket. I was using the server software that comes with media center - not the plugin remote on media center itself! Arrgghh!

Media center doesn't seem to be sending any cover art. Do the sample CCFs show cover art if its available?

Thanks! Mike

Yessir. The coming version, which might be out late this weekend if Ben is right - as with any software developer he's very much like Donald Rumsfeld in his time assessments, but he's luckily not up to games developers standard yet, think Romero and Daikatana  - will even support only showing the active cover, so you take no performance lag when having covers in the mix. In the former versions it made browsing through the libraries slow to a crawl since it had to load the cover for each album you flicked over. And there's lots more goodies to come - I'm looking forward to the ability to control an MC equalizer with it! So welcome to the fold, and may your stay here be long and prosperous. 8)

Awesome, I am definitely a netremote convert.

At least I'm learning to not overpromise! Or put out ads saying "NetRemote is making you it's bitch". :)

Seriously, the next version is almost ready. Tuesday at the latest. (How's that for a promise?)

You're so true! Daikatana really was the biggest dissapointment I have ever had in games. It was pure crap, mostly because of the two total morons you had to drag along with you all the time! Worse companion AI hasn't been seen since Blackadder and his two companions Baldrick and Percy! 8)

As for the promise, a wise man once said: "It'll be done when it's done!"
