Can't find this problem, can someone send me a .gir file that demonstrates this without the need for specific soft or hardware.

Hi folks.

I have been asked how to configure Media Jukebox and Girder several times via this forum and the one over at Jriver.

This script (done in a hurray by the way) should make it a bit easier for beginners to get things configured easily.

I will fix the layout soon, just very busy with year end stuff at work.

Enjoy and I hope it helps. Comments and feedback welcome.

Hi,

OK I have tried the export group and it does work.

I would suggest you load Media Jukebox and then go into the Plugin manager. Now enter the Remote section and check that the Girder plugin is there.

If it is not there then please download it, there is a link there on that screen to download plugins.

If it is there then please ensure that it has been started. Click the start button (not the windows start button) followed by OK.

Now try girder again. If you still dont have any luck then please let me know and I will look into this further.

Good Luck.

John.

* Update *

The cannot find window at the bottom left corner of the main Girder window seem's to be a little bug. Ron's looking into it now.

John.

Hi Folks,

I found the problem.

The vesion of the eport file is the WRONG one. It does dot use the girder plugin.

It should be pointing to class name MJ Girder Plugin

I have now sent the RIGHT version to Ron.

Sorry folks.

John

Hi,

just installed a new system and got exactly the same failure (can't find window). The reason is the name in the target window. The original gir file from HappyPixie refers to 'MEDIA JUKEBOX - CD'. After I changed this to 'MEDIA JUKEBOX' it's working fine  . You can also use the 'drag me to the target window' function and place it over the control center at the bottom left corner from the media player to get the correct name.

rgrds,
Wykat.

Have you checked the name in the target window ?

I feel really dumb posting this question after such a great and clear instructions you have given. BUT It is not working for me. I am very sure that I followed your instructions.

I have the latest girder 3.0.24pre7 and Media Jukebox 7.2. I am using the IR receiver from PBRemote ans Igor's plugin. For my remote, I am using the Sony RM-AV2100 (sort of) universal remote.

I am able to control other parts of my system with this setup.

Everything was going fine until I tried to "learn" the codes for MJ. The status bar on girder says "Cannot find window". I tried the "test command option for all of the commands and I get the same thing. The only commands that seems to work was the Power in that it would start MediaJukebox every other time.

What does "cannot find window" mean and how can I complete this task.

Thanks for your help.

John,
I've tried everything you said but I still get the same thing. Note that I can get somewhat of a response from the Power on/off. Just everything else has the error.

Ron, how do I send you my .gir file?

OK, now I really feel dumb. Please understand that you are dealing with a very new newbie here.

What is the name of the export file that has been corrected and now uploaded?

If it is MediaJukebox7.gxr, then the one at weepixie has not changed.

Simply put, which file do I need and where do I get it from?

Thanks for your ehlp.

OK,
I found the Media_Jukebox_7.gxr file here and I did notice that it was bigger than the original one that I downloaded. Is this all I need?

But after I downloaded the file and imported into mysettings.gir, it still did the same thing, power on brought up MediaJukebox7 but everything else came up with the error ?
"Cannot find window".

What am I doing wrong?

Here are the exported groups: http://www.girder.nl/exportgr.php
And the one you want MMJB8: http://www.girder.nl/download.php?Link=349
You may also need one of the converters at the bottom of this page to convert the exported group depending on which version of Girder you have: http://www.girder.nl/downloadn.php

I visited the Girder plugin for Media JukeBox on the Girder webpage. I'm having trouble getting the plugin loaded. I'm using MJB version 8 and the instructions are for version 7 if that matters. The part that I am stuck on is here:

"Download the Media Jukebox Girder export file by RIGHT clicking HERE and selecting Save-AS. Skip this step if you already have it downloaded."

When I click "HERE" the file is not found ... it is supposed to be:

http://www.girder.nl/mediajukebox7.gxr

... based on when I hover my mouse over the word "HERE" but there is nothing (and I'm using version 8 anyway).

Since I can't download that file, it doesn't show up in this step:

Browse to the Media Jukebox Girder export file you downloaded (Mediajukebox7.gxr) and select "Open".

So I am stuck. Do you have any advice to get me all set up? Thanks!

I not really sure which (if any) of those links I need.

I have Media JukeBox version 8 installed from:

http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/

I have Girder version 3.2.4 installed from:

http://www.girder.nl/downloadn.php

I have the Girder plugin for Media JukeBox installed from:

http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/plugins.pl?type=9&start=0&end=5&page=1

If I have the latest version of all the programs that I listed above, do I actually need a converter?

My problem seems to be the inability to import (or even locate) the Girder plugin for Media JukeBox into Girder ... I cant find the file that I need to import.

Upon further review, I found it (I just unzipped it in an odd way). I now WAS able to import it! Now (being the silly Girder nubie that I am) I just need to learn what to do with it!

OK ... I have IRman and Girder installed, and the Media JukeBox plugin is loaded. All I have to do now is teach it to understand my remote control. However, I can't do this. Whenever I click "Learn Event" it says "Waiting for IR code" but no matter what button I click on any remote control, it doesn't learn anything. This seems like something that many people would be easily able to answer, but I can't seem to find the answer. What do I have to do to get Girder to learn a code from a remote control?

The device is enabled, and I do get a green light. I made a bunch of changes, and one of them worked. Not sure which one, but I'm up and running. Not sure I understand your next idea (re: lowest level of an event tree) but that doesn't look like my problem (yet) so I better hold off on asking.

My NEW problem (which I think looks like a BUG!) is this ...

When I use Media JukeBox without IRman / Girder / Remote (MX-500) it runs flawlessly. IMMEDIATELY after the first click of the remote, I completely lose the ability to switch between song lists ... whatever I am in at the time, is what I am stuck in until I shut down ... it could be any one of my Playlists, Now Playing, or Media Library.

Has anyone else experienced this issue using Media JukeBox with IRman and/or Girder ... and better yet ... has anyone solved it?

Hi Rick

Looks like you are actively switching between forums for advice!!

It may be when you try & get girder to learn that (i) your input device is not enabled (green light for status) or (ii) you have not clicked on the lowest level of the event tree (eg. power - next level down = power on / power off). Haven't used girder for a while so excuse me if I'm a bit rusty.
