This came out of nowhere. I tried to launch NetRemote 0.982 and a dialog box came up that said "An attempt was made to move teh pointer before the beginning of the file". After dismissing the window, a new window titled "Failed DIB Create" came up. It had the same text inside.
I uninstalled the APP and reinstalled but I rec'd the same error.
I can't get a working version of the software installed. Any ideas? Is there a way to do a "cleaner" un-install?

Hi Pete,
Can you send me the ccf you're trying to use?
You'll need to open the registry editor and remove the setting for OpenedFile, as it's going to keep trying to open it.
If you can't regedit it, rename the file or move it so that NetRemote can't find it. NetRemote will now prompt you to pick a ccf that exists.
Thanks Pete,

Ben -
I get the error _before_ the app starts up. Perhaps the error is related to the default CCF? If so, should I simply delete the default CCF file? (The uninstaller must have left it b/c doing an uninstall and re-install of the app does not fix the problem). Where should I look?
thanks,
pete

It sounds like the file is corrupt. I would suggest deleting it, sure. Especially if an uninstall won't clean it up.

Deleting the default.ccf didn't work so after launching netremote I did a search for *.ccf and moved all the .ccf files that were accessed at launch time to a new folder. That solved the problem.
thanks,

Great, Pete.
Let me know if it occurs again.
