Are the plans for UIRT2 non USB pass through dead?

Ben, Jon, anybody: Will this happen? I've bought 2 of those now (one's still in my brother's workshop, one is on the way from the US). But have I done that invane? In Feb this was job no. 1, but I guess something happened...

I was (happily) able to pass this part of the project back to Jon. The slinke integration was so easy that I (foolishly) assumed the UIRT2 would be quite easy, as well. Unfortunately it wasn't, and it kept slipping off my plate because it seemed to cumbersome.

So now it's in Jon's court, and the official word doesn't look good:
