Hi Guys,

Firstly I would like to again thank WickedEwok for this great programme. I have now setup my HTPC and have successfuly used my Toshiba e740 with netremote to play music from media center. :D

At the moment I have to select tracks to play by using the tree at the bottom of the remote, and go Media Library - Audio - Artist/Album - (Artist Name) - (Album) - (Track to play) As you can see, this is quite a few clicks to get some music playing, and on the small screen, you have to be quite accurate. I can see a button on the remote skin that says 'Cover' and when I press it, I get 9 black boxes and 3 directional arrows on the screen. I assume that I should be able to browse my music collection via album cover using this? If so, what setting do I need to hange to allow it to work?

Many thanks

Rob

You don't need to change anything, but are you sure you got cover images for your music in MediaCenter.

The only setting I believe is available in NetRemote is the resolution of the cover images that get transmitted. It's in the configuration of the MJB/MediaCenter plug-in.

In MediaCenter, if you want you can also fetch cover images by selecting all your tracks, right-click -> Image -> Get From Internet...

Depending on your musical taste you can already get quite a lot of cover this way.

Eric.

Hi Eric,

I do have the cover art for every album I have ripped. And the cover art for the playing album does display on the main net remote screen, but I would like to be able to browse my music collection by album covers, and I think that is what the 'cover' button is for, but mine doesn't work.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Rob

You probably haven't got the right view scheme on MC. You need one called Media Library/Audio/Album.

Hi Mastiff,

You are probably correct, but I can't seem to find the scheme that you suggest, could you give me a dummies guide on how to activate that scheme please.

Thanks

Rob

You don't se it, you create it. Right click on the Media library in MC, choose Add new view scheme and choose audio and album. Simple as that. 8)

Hi Mastiff,

Sorry, but I still cannot do what you say. I right click on 'Media Library', amd a menu pops up. From this menue I choose 'Add new view scheme' Once clicked, this brings up a new box titled 'View Scheme Properties' And at the moment it says 'View Scheme Display Name:' and then 'Empty/Unnamed' in a box below. I have tried clicking on 'Add' which brings up a list, but I cannot see audio as a component type I can select.

May I point out that I am not an idiot when it comes to computers, but this thing seems intent on making me look like one. It seems as though I may have a different version of Media Center to you, I am not sure...?

If you are able to help me further with this, I would most appreciate it.

Thanks

Rob

My mistake. I ment "Add View Scheme group". Write "Audio" in Display name (where it will now say "New Group"). Then click on "Search criteria", "Add rule", "File info", "File type" and choose mp3, ogg, ape or whatever your music files are (it will only display the filetypes you've got on your system). Click OK. Now you'll have a view scheme group called "Audio", but it's empty. Right click on it and choose "Add New View Scheme". Click "Add" in the box that opens, move up to "Album" in the list box and click OK. Click OK again to close the View Scheme dialogue box, and you should be all set.

Are you running 9.0 or 9.1, Rob?

There is info on 9.1 here (http://www.netremote.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=308), but 9.0 is slightly different.

On 9.0, right click on "Audio" and select "Add New View Scheme".

Make sure "Auto-name" is checked. and click "Add". Choose "Album" for Component Type, and then click OK. You should see the name change to "Album". Now click OK, and you're good to go!
