I have multiple stereo systems in various rooms in my house, and because it is an old house, it is impractical to wire it for a music distribution system. I do have a Wi-Fi network, however.

Sometimes I would like to play the same music everywhere in the house from Media Center. Of course I can control my HTPC with NetRemote, but
I wondered whether there is a way to stream the music olaying on the HTPC in Media Center to other computers on the network. I know I can set up separate instances of Media Center on different machines, but that's not what I'm talking about.

If I can do that I can then distribute the music throughout the house via the network.

No, I don't think you can do this with media center...

You will need to use some streaming software and tune in you other players to that stream. I looked at doing this at one time but decided it was going to be more complex then I wanted.

Check out the Media Server in MC.
I think you still have to set up MC on the other machines but the
server machine can stream audio, playlists or radio, to the other
machines. I think even to a tivo unit.
