Laptop, UIR, XP, Oh My!

Ok, here's my problem. A few weeks ago, I received a nice new Dell laptop running Win XP Pro. When I tried to use the UIR that I built and that works perfectly on my Win98SE, Girder says that it can't initialize. Anyone have any idea what's going on? I thought it would be great to have my laptop in the car, and just use a remote to change the mp3's in Winamp :smile:

Hmmmmmmm, strange. Now it's working, but I'm still even more unsure of what's going on. I went into my BIOS and changed the serial port from what it was (COM 1) to something else. Win XP still sees it as COM 1, though, and everything works fine. Hmmmmmmmmm. As long as it works, I guess...:wink:
