I guess you downloaded one of the 24pre4 releases because I did not include the IrDA driver anymore for obvious reasons. For the real diehards i've put the separate plugin up on the download page. As said before NO garantuees.

The driver that I wrote was written for a real-serial (AKA COM-port) connected IrDA device. These new USB devices I have no experiences with so I cannot help. If you have a real-com-port-device you might want to check out the helpfile as how to get it to 'work'

Hi All,

I am using a sitecom USB to FastIrDA device on my machine and I cannot get it to work with Girder.

I read that Girder wasn't made for use with Irda, because Irda uses light of a different wavelength then the RC IR. But... I read a thread on this forum from some time ago that some people got it to work, even someone with the same device as mine... There were a couple download locations for special drivers, but on installation they all told me there was a DLL missing (newdev.dll)...

Is there anyone who can tell me how they got their (USB) IrDA device to work with Girder?

Any help is appreciated...

Thanks a lot!
Arno

Thanks a lot, I am trying it right now. And I wont even think about emailing you about this driver

Anyway: There is one more thing: I keep reading about how the IRda device has to communicate through a REAL COM port instead of a virtual one.. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Because indeed did the drivers install a virtual COM port, virt LPT port a network adapter and an IR device, but not on a REAL COM port...

Anyone?

And thanks again Ron!
