Igor plugin is a polling plugin meaning that it takes quite a bit of CPU time. On the average it might be low ( < 50% ) but if you look at the usage on a microsecond scale you'll find 100% utilisation. I think this has to do with the priority that this plugin takes. I'd have to check that, I vaguely remember something about realtime priority,.. but don't take my word for this

As the topic says, every time I press the remote to send commands to Media Juke Box 7.2, I get small hickups in sound. It's annoying, especially when I'm using the remote as a mouse, surfing for tunes. Is there an easy explanation for this? I use the Igor Plug-in with an Anir Multimedia Magic on a Celeron 700 with Win2K Advanced Server (it's also my network server), but nothing else makes the stuff react this way. When I press remote buttons to control my DVD player (via the TCP/IP plug-in) or the Barco (via the serial plug-in) these problems does not occur. The sound card is a Sound Blaster Live Value. Anybody?
(Oh, yes, I saw the other thread from September about a similar problem, but I've tried adjusting the volume on the sound card, and my CPU utilization never exceeds 50 % even when pressing the button.)
Whoa! I just discovered another thing: When I press the button to adjust volume on my amp, it reacts the same way! And that's not even programmed into Girder. So it has to have something to do with the way the Igor plug-in receives or translates remote codes!

OK, thanks. I wish I could get the Serial UIR131 to work for my Anir IR receiver, but I've tried without any luck.
