Hi,

Congratulations to everybody with a Simpad running the Netremote client. Now it's time for the HP Jornada 720!!
Basically the Jornada 720 is running the same OS as the Simpad (HPC2000). It also has the same processor, i.e. the arm processor. The tips to get Netremote running on the simpad also works on for the Jornada. In fact the trick with the Pocket PC dll's has its origins in the HP Jornada user community.

I got NetRemote running on my Jornada 720 with no problems, using the PPC 2002 version with the additional PPC dlls. I can interface with MediaCenter. No problems so far. Only problem is, and it's a severe problem, that both the PocketPC resolution and the Simpad resolution doesn't fit on the Jornada screen. The resolution of the Jornada is 640x240. So, I wonder is it possible to make a CCF file that supports the 640x240 resolution.

Thanks,
Paul

Send it to Ben.

So, how do you like the Jornada? I didn't know there were any 640x320 ppc's out yet. Is it lithe and svelte? Does it have built-in wireless?

Ok, I will do that.

The HP Jornada 720 is a "old" device. But it's great. It's a so called Handheld PC, the forerunner of the Pocket PC. It has a keyboard, a touch sensitive color screen etc.

Oh. Palm has a new high res PDA out, the Tungsten T3. It's 480x320 (http://reviews.cnet.com/Palm_Tungsten_T3/4505-3128_7-30557627-3.html?tag=review). I thought that HP had come out with a new PDA that leapfrogged the Palm. Oh well. It would be nice if there were higher resolution PDA's. Those of us blessed with good eyesight could make great use of the higher resolution, by squeezing more into the screen by using teeny tiny fonts.
