Just dug up this old program I purchased a while ago. It allows you full control of your PC thru your PPC, you actually see your PC's desktop, applications, etc thru your PPC and can control all programs, open, close, etc, as well as moving the mouse and inputing text and commands.

I think this is as good as it gets, especially if you want a PPC remote control for your HTPC. You dont have to worry about compatibility since it is only running stuff on your PC. It is very fast, refreshing very quickly over a 11.b network.

The only tough thing is the resolution. You can zoom from 100% to 60%, but this makes it tough if you are looking at a 1024X768 display, you have to scroll thru your desktop. I would assume running your desktop in 640X480 with the 60% zoom option would look great on the PPC, this is purely if your PC is just for HTPC purposes. I tried this and it works awesome with myHTPC, looks like it was made for the PPC.

Figured some of you guys would want to try it, well worth the purchase price.

And if you are running Windows XP or Windows 2000 server Terminls services is free... just download the free TS client (from Microsoft) for your flavor of CE. I was using this on the ePods1 (CE v2.12).

Resolution issue is solved quite nicely with Nyditot's Virtual display, allows for landscape mode as well.

I'm also using Pebbles, although I'd obviously prefer to use Remote Desktop from any PC, as it gives a "like you're there" experience. As long as you remember to check "leave sound at server", all is well. I haven't had to turn on the projector to fudge with settings in months.

SpineDoc - are you suggesting using this instead of NetRemote, or in addition? If in addition it would be cool to set any of these up as an action in NetRemote to bring it up. If you could bring up a stored "session" so it automatically connected to the HTPC, that would be pretty cool.

I've been away for a bit, but I have been using Bitween's Remote Control quite a bit. In combination with MyHTPC it is AMAZING to say the least. You pretty much have your full desktop on your PocketPC. Now with the latest Pocket PC's finally having VGA resolution this will be incredible.

I think the advantage of NetRemote is you can make a custom interface for buttons/remote controls, as well as make a custom interface to fit the resolution of your Pocket PC. Very cool stuff for what it's good at. But instead of indirectly controlling things thru NetRemote maybe you should look at directly controlling things such as in Remote Control. I tried the whole thing with NetRemote, got a IR man, Girder, and played with it for a solid month, very neat project. Now if I could make some custom interfaces for Remote Control that would be sharp.

Keep up the good work, just don't forget to look at what's around you in terms of options.
