Yes I see, that is indeed broken, and fixed now in pre7  The workaround mentioned here works for all Girder versions but the old version don't save the Irstring of an command in a multigroup so you need to get the newest girder for that.

Here is how it works (according to the updated helpfile)

If you have a question action in a multigroup there is ofcourse no IRstring ( eventstring) coupled to the question action, however the question action needs an IRstring eventstring the way you do this is to move the command out of the multicommand and “learn” an event to it there and then move it back into the multigroup .

You're welcome. Its always nice to hear postive things about Girder. Usually people only complain . This is logical of course because if a program works why would you write to the author?

I am using Version 3.0.23 of Girder and I have run into a snag with the Question function on the Girder tab.

Here's the situation:
I create a MultiGroup and place a command within it for a Question function. Then I set the Name fields to two different other commands. When I execute the MultiGroup command I get the second of the two name fields (the negative response) regardless of whether I press the same button or any other button.

I tried using only single (not Multi) commands for the two choices and it still didn't work.

I tried using a Goto command within the MultiGroup that pointed to a single function and still no dice.

The only solution that I have found is to make the Question function its own standalone function i.e. not part of a MultiGroup.

This however defeats the purpose of what I am trying to do. I am trying to have a keypress as well as a couple of other things happen before the Question command is executed. I would think that it should be able to work this way.

Thank you so much. I was hoping that this discussion board could help me out and from the author no less. I am sure that you have heard it many times before but I just wanted to say that Girder has met and exceeded all of my expections. It even beats out certain other programs that you have to pay for. And who can beat a response in four hours on support. Kudos to you RonB.
