View Full Version : Pages with multiple covers not working

First of all I want to say that I am new to this tool and new to this forum. I just discovered NetRemote, and what a discovery!

While experimenting I also purchased a license of MusicLobbyPPC. It is not even close to the flexibility, usability and performance of NetRemote.

Thanks. Keep up the excellent work!

And, so for the problem:
I have everything up an running fine. The only problem are pages with many Covers. They only show a couple of copies of the first cover in my collection (beeing "10000 Maniacs - MTV Unplugged"... The word "10000" tends to score high in alphabetic lists...) and then stops.

If I click a cover MC9 starts a playlist with all the 4441 songs in the library. This basically kills the PPC because of the _very_ long Now Playing list.

I had the same problem with my Artist/Album-list before I turned on the function in MC9 that populates the three.

Any suggestions?

Best regards,
Eirikso

There's a special formatting for a wiew you need to use for that to work. I believe it's Audio/Artist/Album.

Thanlk you. I made this view:

Media Library/Audio/Album

That did the trick.

And now this is starting to get really cool. Once I understood the connection between the commands in the ccf and the views in MC9 I made the following:

First, I tagged my internet radio channels available in the media library this way: Broadcaster's name = "Artist", Channel name = Album. Then I marked the genre of them with "Radio".

Then I made:

- A dedicated button called "Radio" on my main NetRemote-page.
- A view that sorts: Media Library/Audio/Radio
This view is actually: "Media Library/Audio/Album",
but with an extra keyword-search on genre for "Radio"
- A dedicated copy of the covers-page in the default MC9 .ccf that points to "Media Library/Audio/Radio"

The result is a screen with all the radio channel logos lined up nicely. One click on a logo and the channel starts playing.

I'll post a screenshot later.

Nice! A fresh view often comes up with new uses for things!

Here are two screenshots:

One showing my main page with the improvized button for the radio page. The other one is my radio selector. Basically a special edition of the cover page.

No, you're wrong. It's two sets of letters reading

You are absolutely right. It is now fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience. I did this post from my Toshiba e805 PDA. Including FTP-transfer, resize and rotation of the pictures. Had to do some edits after my initial post.

PS Anyway, this e805 is one impressive PDA...

"Alltid klassisk"? Bloody snob!

It looks cool, though! Bra jobba! Btw I understand that the pictures from your wedding night has to be password protected, but why the wedding itself? I was trying to get a clue as to where in Norway you live. I give up. Where is it? Also I have the same HTPC cabinet in my living room as you, but I only use it as a NetRemote computer and the odd videocapture session from the digital cable box.

"Show me your radio channels and I will tell you who you are!" 8)

The "Alltid Klassisk"-case is quite interesting. ("Alltid Klassisk" is a channel broadcasting 24/7 classical music). NRK streams at 166 kbps WMA9. That is better quality than traditional FM broadcasts. For classical-freaks the quality is very important.

Who would have thought for a couple of years ago that we would start streaming radio on the internet with better quality than the traditional analogue broadcasts?

But for me, I must admit that my favourites are BeatBlender and Secret Agent from www.somafm.com. And, as you can se from the screenshot, SomaFM has channel logos that are much better looking in my GUI... :-)

Then for the answer to your question: most likely you would not be able to determine where I am from on basis of the wedding-pictures. Most of them are interior shots from the restaurant where we had our dinner.

The answer is: grew up in Bergen, studied in Stavanger, live in Oslo.

That's an interesting blend. I have lived in those three cities for shorter or longer periods (from three months to seven years). Maybe I could have recognized the restaurant... Anyway, I only listen to radio for news and stuff like that, they never play any music I like. Which is real heavy metal (AC/DC is great mellow out music for me...).

Just gotta say: Norwegians rule!!!

my Mom's norsk - Trondhjem - and I have lived there too. I don't know if Mastiff caught it, but my first EVER post had a little section for him:

http://www.netremote.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=809

Yes - a very long 1st posting, I know... the norsk part is at the bottom.

BTW - I now have a Toshiba e805!!!! YAY IT'S "HELT KUL" (totally cool!) I plan on making some 480x640 layouts eventually, when I get back from vacation. I just had to brag!

Well, at least Norwegians have this looooong dark winter with huge needs for entertainment. That's why we need cool software like NetRemote, myHTPC, BeyondTV etc...

Toshiba e805:
My old HP Jornada 568 has permanently "retired" into a full time NetRemote client. That is because I bought a Toshiba e805 in January. So, basically, I use my 240x320 Jornada for NetRemote, but with the 480x640 Screen on my e805 it is more and more tempting to start making a skin for that one...

Please inform us if you make a 480x640-skin for your e805.

PS. I have posted a Question about Tonto and colors under the "Tonto"-thread. No answers so far:

Anyone?

Thanks, Dennis! Actually I'd prefer to live in the US, but my wife hasn't really cut the umbilical cord to her family yet... Oh, and your norwegian is better than what most norwegian 15 year olds are able to write nowadays.

Thanks Mastiff for the Norsk compliment! Truth is I should really use it a lot more often than i do so i don't forget it! One would think that would be simple enough since my mother is Norwegian! But we speak english. I suppose when I have kids I will be teaching them both... and I'm sure "far mor" will have a hand in that as well!

As for my e805 - It's great!! been playing with it for weeks now. I got back from vacation, played with it some more. Today i started with Netremote on it and hit some problems.

I actually did a post somewhere - let me see if I can find the link:
http://www.netremote.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=788&highlight=e805

Ok - there. ANY help is greatly appreciated. Are there logs on the PDA anywhere? Anyway, long story short - problem with viewing CCF's in 640x480. I'm going to try a VERY basic CCF next.

Thanks - you all are great - I don't understand why this community isn't growing in LEAPS and BOUNDS - this is really a great product with HUGE potential.

As far as 640x480 "skins" I suppose once I have working ones I will try to post them.

How do you tag radio channels in MC? I tried to change artist and name but it wouldn't accept it.
