Possible.

For the multiple instances take a look at window exists action.

Use "Window Exists" action on Os tab.

Set target to window that you want to probe for.

Set the first "name" to the action that has to be done if the window exists, the second to the action that has to be done if the window does not exists. Play around with it.

The reason why I have not commented on the Device notifier is because I don't know what is causing this.

Try the DVD spy plugin, this should have similar functionality.

Can someone verify this?

Is there any possible workaround?

Bob,

I just tried on my system and can confirm the problem: both "arrived" and "removed" events trigger the same action

Posted this question over at the Theatertek forum, but thought I'ld post here as well.

I got 2 problems with regards to launching the Theatertek player (or any player for that matter).

1) My event command 'DVD arrives' executes whether the DVD is inserted or ejected. Obviously I just want to execute when the DVD is inserted. What am I missing here?

2) How do I tell Girder to not open up the player if the player is already running (creating multiple instances)?

Thanks all.

OH NO.

Just noticed another post which states Device Notifier plug-in doesn't work under WinXP.

Is this true and is it the cause of my DVD insertion issue?

I'm running WinXP.

Thanks Ron,

Could you be a little more specific with 'window exists'? Possibly give an example, or explain in more detail how to check if window exists and then to tell girder not to open that application again?

Any ideas on the dvd insertion issue?

Hi Steve,

Surely there must be a fix or workaround since dvd players can tell the difference.

I can verify that, under WinXP, DVDspy does indeed tell the difference between insert and eject.
