Girder receives inputs from several sources ; IR receiver, keyboard etc...

.. and maps in different ways those inputs to events he generates.

So basically, Girder does just what you describe.

My inputs are a Realmagic remote IR receiver and the keyboard. I'm sending (aka generating) keyboard events (sending CTrl+P to an app), mouse events (to get out of a screensaver) or even APM events (shutdown the computer, put it in standby mode)

Hi,
I have an application which can be controlled by a set of keystroks.
I am new to girder so please be patient

If I understand your question correctly, you want to send Girder an IR signal and have Girder send keyboard keystrokes.

On girder main window, click 'keyboard' tab (right side about halfway down. sometimes it's a word that says keyboard, sometimes it's an icon w/ KB). Then just enter the command below the tab. Special keys are just that. Sentence is where you would place normal keyboard keys. Click apply. Then just teach girder the IR command via the learn button. When sees the the IR signal, it executes the keyboard command you specified.
