Which driver for CT or lirc serial port ir device?

Hi all,

after have been disappointed by an irda interface i have built the homebrew serial ir device described by the well known German computer magazin CT in 18/2000.

Though i can use the device with girder over the winlirc driver i wonder whether there is another driver.

I tried the generic serial ir based receiver plugin unsuccesfully. Maybe i used the wrong settings???
