I'm using the Slink-e to receive and transmit IR via Girder and it works very well
I'm using CDJ to managage 2 400 disk megachangers. Girder can be running while other apps are using the slink-e. I routinely have Girder and CDJ running together and they play nice

I certainly use it, although only the IR receiving part of the Girder interface. For S-link control, I just use CDJ. For IR transmitting, a custom app called from ShowShifter.

As Steve said, multiple apps can share the Slink-e. You need to configure them to use the OLE Automation slinkeserv, but that's it.
More info on ShowShifter is here (http://www.showshifter.com). What it has going for it is that one can associate a command line with each channel. Simple enough, but apparently unique. I specify a custom app that tells the Slink-e to IR blast to the cable modem. (And puts EPG info out to the LCD -- routed via Girder.) I bet it would work just as well to use Girder's -eventstring command line option to run commands for each channel that use the plug-in's transmission capability.
Of course, I use Girder to control ShowShifter. (And to launch CDJ occasionally, just to display where the jukebox is -- the Pronto controls it directly.) There are quirks in the recursion vs. autorepeat in this setup, but it pretty much works.

I decided to just buy an IR transceiver - along with other features - and noticed that Ron wrote a SlinkE driver.
Anyone (even Ron?) using it? Does it support all the various device functions? (Control S, IO lines etc)
Thanks,
Mike

Can your various apps run at the same time? (Or do you shut down Girder to use ShowShifter). CAN the Slinke transmit IR too using Girder?
Where can I learn more about showshifter?
Thanks,
Mike
