what specific girder plugin do i need

i have a marmitek pc remote {09523} which can only be used with showshifter that comes with it. i understand there is a girder plugin that will work with this remote without of showshifter. i have so far download lots of plugins but i have got the real one since i am not able yet to use the remote without showshifter.

Is this an x10 type remote - ie RF?

If so, try the Generic X10 plugin.

i uninstalled showshifter and reinstalled girder and added X10_Remote.dll plugin without result. remote is not responding, i did installed Generic x10 driver but it has conflict with gider.

are you refering to somethine else {Generic X10 plugin?} can you point me where to get the plugin. i have tried X10/ati remote girder plugin.

reinstalled girder and X10 remote plugin, if i push any remote button girder will flash light, but nothing responds to any command.

i am out of ideas and definetaly going to throw away the remote before i go crazy

Do you have a link to the remote?

If you see the girder light flash when you press a button, then it sounds like its working... what do you see displayed in the bottom status bar of Girder?

that is exactly my point nothing happens when i press remote button, while the light flashs on the girder icon under the taskbar.

i suppose it should work if the light flash and that is why i am confused on what to do next.

It sounds like your remote is now working with Girder.

Still, I would like to know what text you are seeing displayed in Girders status bar.


What programs do you want to control with Girder?

thanks Mike C, for your efforts so far.
if i press play button on the remote it will show X10_UP_PLAY, same goes to ther buttons.

i will like to control windows media player, DVB tv , media center and other media players if possible.

when i had showshifter installed i could control everything, only showshifter comes up and stands in the way of other program most of the times

showshifter has been removed, i am sking for help to make marmitek remote work with gider because i don't like showshifter and it clashes badly and constantly. the remote works with girder+showshifter, but i want to configure it only with girder and according to the plugin it should work. i just don't know what i am doing wrong
