I don't have a X10 mouseremote but a X10 mp3 anywhere remote controller. but I think the receiver is just the same. so you might want to have a look at marks general serial plugin and the x10 configuration file (get it on the downloadpage). at least on my setup I don't have the x10 software installed, as it just doesn't work on w2k. girder is all that I need to make use of my remote.

hm, no idea. I'm doing this all the time. Not explorer or winamp, but showshifter, moretv, mediajukebox, ... never had a problem like this. One thing that could cause a problem like this would be not enough cpu time left for Girder. To 'fix' this you could start Girder using the following command line:
D:WINNTsystem32cmd.exe "/c start /high D:ProgrammeGirderGirder.exe"
put this in the target (or whatever that is called in english W2k) of a program link. inlude the ".
This is for W2k but there should be some simmilar options in W9x/Me, but you have to substitute cmd.exe with command.exe

Hi. I am using the x10 mouseremote and I have to keep the mouseremote software running in order to use the remote. Should I need to do that? Also the remote stops working if I use Girder to start winamp. If I stop and restart the x10 software it works again. I have a few other problems but those are the major ones. Is there any help for me or am I just stuck?

Well I haven't tried the serial port yet because I just found out that it is Girder, not the remote software, which is causing the problem. Girder stops responding to remote commands if a program is loaded using the remote. That includes winamp, internet explorer, and powerdvd. Any suggestions?

I use the serial driver for my UR47A in XP
I see no reason to use the X-10 Software since Girder can do everything Boom can and more (well almost-the keyboard emulation doesn't work as well but this will change when we get a kernel keyboard filter I bet)
THANK GOD for the antirepeat feature! Using Boom I had problems entering channels in DScaler, etc. (had to just barely tap buttons or get the key twice)
Using the "ButtonMode" action plugin I was able to set up Girder to work similar to Boom where pressing AUX/PC (and holding for a bit) and then pressing a number selects the mode. Tapping AUX/PC does nothing(for changing back to PC control from TV, etc.) So far controlling winamp, DScaler, CDPlayer, and mouse.
these settings work well:
8-N-1 9600 baud
handshaking: none
under receive:
variable length (for reliability)
terminator "ad"
all other options unchecked except for
translate (hex->bin)
Good Luck,
Kevin
