Hey guys,
I decided to publish my CCF/GML combo to this community now, even though it's not quite perfect yet. It's called JHTPC v1.3d and should be in the download area as soon as Ben's been kind enough to publish it.
Hope you'll enjoy it, there's a few snapshots in the zip-file, but here're a couple for your viewing pleasure.
Any feedback is as per usual happily received!
Cheers,
Jens

Thanks alot! This is the first netremote app I've installed and just about everything worked. Of course I haven't been at this for to long. Can't wait until you get Meedio going. Thanks again.l

UPDATE TIME!!
Just bettered the Meedio functionality, and added the IMDb parser.
Next version will have LUADVDJB functionality and a few other nifty thingies.. (Thinking about an EPG)
Enjoy!

hi jens,
as long as there is no download opportunity: how far does your meedio functionality go?
i am desperately looking for a way to control meedio though my axim x3i/wlan and to get back a few informations from meedio (like playing title, elapsed time or maybe coverart and playlists) and have them displayed on my pda.
does your jhtpc do that? do u have plans to extand the meedio-part in the near future?
i donīt use jrmc, zp or anything else - only meedio/tvc. so all the posted configs donīt work for me. :-(

Chris,
at this point all my ccf/gml does is sending girder events to Meedio (so you will need the Girder server plugin for Meedio installed).
I haven't really bothered about any feedback from Meedio for two reasons:
1. Before Meedio has the Meedio TV plugin, I don't really think it's worth the time and hassle.
2. I use ZP and JRMC for everything myself, and Meedio only as a frontend to launch those apps.
Before I see a proper version of Meedio with TV included I won't spend too much time on integrating it any deeper.
It shouldn't be too hard to do though, just using feeds and girder events from Meedio should do the trick. Perhaps if I get some more time on my hands soon I can take a look. What is it you're after though, get feedback on playing track, playing dvd etc?
Cheers,
Jens

hi jens,
well i use the german version of meedio -> tv central.
tvc does everthing i need -> live tv with a nice epg, timeshifting (with bugs until now), play my mp3-songs and watch dvd & avi/mp4-files, grabbing covers/infos about my movies over the internet, even email & browsing.
the only things i am missing are grabbing mp3-covers also (like gotcha covered) and nice visualization like gforce.
1) i would like to control meedio/tvc via pda. that should be rather easy, since i use my old pronto for that via girder already.
2) iīd like to get back infos about the playing track (time, title, cover) for video/dvd/mp3. i have no clue how to get the infos from meedio to my pda. :-(
3) the big solution would be to see i.e. the list of my video/mp3-files not only on the screen but also on my pda. so i could choose one from my pda-screen.
if u got some time, i would be very thankful for hints & tips.
thanks,
chris

Chris,
ok, can you use generic Meedio plugins in tvc?? The Girder Event Server (GES) and the Girder Event Client (GEC) would be a must. As far as I understand (but my German is quite limited) TVCentral is built on myHTPC, the predecessor of Meedio, and as far as I know GES and GEC won't work with myHTPC.. Unfortunately.
But IF it's possible to use the GES, your first request, controlling Meedio is easy. That's included in the latest JHTPC v1.4 CCF/GML and should be available any time soon here. I'm just waiting for Ben to publish it. If you look in the GML file there's a group called Meedio, and it's pretty self explanatory. You'd need to enable the Internet Event Client in the plugins for it to work, and enable GES in Meedio. The other (but ugly way) is to set focus to Meedio and simply send a Keypress event. I took that away the second I stopped using myHTPC.
Feedback is more difficult, there's something called feeds in Meedio that you'd have to use, I'm still learning about it myself. Or perhaps you could do a workaround via girder somehow, but that takes some looking in to. So much to do, so little time.
Request no 3 would be using a modified version of LUADVDJB, something I plan to incorporate in my next version of the CCF. If you want to take a look, just search the forum for LDJ and/or LUADVDJB and you should find some interesting stuff.
Hope this helps you a bit on the way.

hi jens,
thanks for your infos & help.
tvc is the localized version of meedio. the two plugins are working perfectly.
there is a plugin called "feedmee" (Sends out a datafeed based on a library). maybe this plugin is useful for my request no2.
for no3 i will search for LUADVDJB and i will keep looking for new versions of jhtpc. ;-)
thanks

If you know what folder the video files are in, and you can cause them to be played by running a program, then the PlayPick driver might work for you. See for example my use of it at http://brianavid.com/Avid/ScreenShots/Recordings_List.htm.
It is freely available for download at my web site.

I just tried to download 1.4 and there seems to be a problem. One file downloads and it has no extension. I assumed by the size that it was a .ccf file so I added it and I got an error saying "incompatible ccf file". Is it a gml file? I'm confused........Jeff

Hi,
thanks, it's great to get nice feedback!! Even though I don't have a wife myself my goal is to make the interface nice looking and user friendly..
Just put the lua file in the same catalog as the ccf, and it'll be automatically loaded by Netremote.

Thanks for your answer,
itīs now clear, but...

I still have a problem to use mouse moves, mouse-clicks works fine, but on mouse moves Netremote crashes down.
Dr. Watson
Thanks for your answer...

Toby,
all you should need is to have the WinLUAEx plugin enabled in Girder and mousemoves should work fine..

Dear Jens,
thatīs exactly my problem.
Iīm not so familiar with Girder (use 3.3 former with X10/ATI) works fine.
I donīt see a plugin called win.....
So, perhaps this is the reason why netremote crashes ???
What is the exact name of this plugin and where can i find it.
Thanks for your help

Dear Jens,
i found the plugin, installed it and still encounter same problem.
Scenario:
PC installed with Netremote pro, your CCF file loaded
Server Netremote installed, girder 3.3 installed, plugins installed (is there something todo with your lua file ???)
Everytime when i click in the white area for mouse-movements i got a dr. watson...
Mouse right/Left click works fine ...

Toby,
the WinLUAEx plugin must be enabled, the JHTPC v1.4.GML file must be loaded, there's a group called "Mouse Move" in it which controls the mouse.
Also, but I'm sure you've done that since the mouse clicks work, is to make sure the Girder plugin in NR is working as it should. The reason the mouse clicks work is because those events are detected in a different way than the mouse movement.
You really shouldn't get Dr. Watson on your pda though, that sounds fishy to me..
Otherwise, if it doesn't work, I honestly don't know why.. Perhaps someone else can help out.

Dear Jens.
Just a las word to what i made right now.
First, i installed the newest version of netremote pro.
After that, i installed winluax on server machine.
Now, i started crdemo and .... mouse events worked fine !!!!
Finally, i putted your ccf + lua in the same dir of my ipaq and load this.
First result : everything works fine, except of mouse movements.
Second result : i am no more able to load your ccf, after a while i see your nice screen and then i got a read read error (2times read). and autoclose.
If i remove the lua file, everything starts fine. i can work with your ccf, but mouse wonīt work.
WHat the hell iīm doing wrong.
Again, it should be very easy:
copy your files (lua and ccf) in one dir, copy the jhtpc to program\netremote, starting winlua on server, everything should work, isnīt it..
Thanks for your patience.

shoot, I have no clue.. Sounds like you're doing everything right. The only thing I can think of is a corrupted file or something, perhaps you should just try to copy the files from the zip-file again, and see if that makes a different.
Does it work in the Win32 client?? (Of course mouse movement will give you a prob then, but the lua+ccf together)

Where do i copy the files
In your doc theres something like program files/Netremote/j....
I have a german Ipaq Version.
So, i created manually program files/Netremote and copied everything in, the executable netremote is ofcourse in a differnet loc.

Just open the zip file and extract the JHTPC v1.4.ccf and JHTPC v.1.4.lua over the old ones.

Jens,
I'm trying to add pop up frames to my CCF like you have in your CCF.
My hidden frame pops up when I push the button, but it does not cover up what is below it.
I'm trying to duplicate what you have on the Media Center panel of your ccf.
Thanks for any help.

Well, you will need to set either a background color for the popup frame, or a background picture. That should do it. Make sure it's on top of the CCF as well.
Let me know if it doesn't work!
Cheers,
Jens

I got the pop up frame to cover the buttons below.
But now when the frame is hidden I can't tap the buttons that are below the hidden frame.
I'm not sure how many layers of frames you can have on a ccf file.
I think I have three layers of frames with the hidden frame at the top, a different frame in the middle with buttons, and a frame at the bottom for the background of the panel.
The buttons in the middle layer panel are not working. The hidden frame seems to be blocking them at all times.
Can you have one set of buttons and then another set of buttons in a hidden frame that pops up and covers the lower frame of buttons?
Thanks for the help.

How are you hiding the frame? It is certainly possibly to have a hidden frame that covers other buttons and still have those buttons operable.

November 25th, 2004, 10:17 PM
I was using a modified opus ccf from JLee. I had copied and pasted Jen's hidden frame from his ccf.
I got it working by removing the middle layer of buttons and pasted them on the bottom layer. I think I got too many layers mixed up.
Thanks for the help.
