I have a basic remote control for Thomson TV, with no macros. I was suprised when I learned my computer for some ir from rc button and reproduced it from computer to tv, it worked, but only for the first try. I found out it is due two signals sent from the remote. When I press the button once, one signal is sent to tv. On next press, there is another signal. On third press the first signal is sent again. For example, if I want to go through programs, I have to learn my computer for both commands of button "Prog+". Then I must send them in turns. If I will send only one of learned signals, I will switch to next program, but only once.
I'm confused, did you ever meet this problem?

Yes, this is known as an rc5 code. Each button sends alternating signals.

Ok. Is it possible to control such devices (using this code) by universal remote controls? I would buy http://www.surfremotecontrol.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=MX500&Category_Code=HTM

If you search here for rc5 you will see what some people are doing to control these devices. I assume the remote above will work given how popular it is.
