Hi,

This is the latest IMDb movie parser CCF/LUA version 1.0.

Known limitations

- If the IMDb search encounters more than one hit, the parser will always choose the first in the list. It's therefore very important to name your files properly.
- Error handling is not always perfect. If incorrect arguments are given to the script you will only get crap back.
- The parsing will only be as quick as your internet connection. The IMDb html pages are big, and it takes some time to load them before processing can occur.

In order for the demo CCF to work you will need to have AvidUtils installed.

Cheers!

Would appreciate help with one little thing though:

If I use a URL such as http://www.imdb.com/find?tt=on;nm=on;mx=20;q=con air in a browser I'll be automatically transferred to the correct imdb page http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118880/.

Does anyone know of a good way to capture the sourcecode that referrs me? It happens a bit too quick for me to press the stop button..

I would love to see trivia! That's always the first thing I read after having watched a movie. And goofs is always cool! Will you tie this in with the latest LDJ, perhaps? That would be very cool! Clicking on a small cover in LDJ opens the big cover window with both DVDProfiler and IMDB info!

Tor,

I'll definitely add Trivia in the first edition, but to tie it in with LDJ will take me a few days cuz I haven't really used LDJ since the stoneage, and I just need to sit down with it for a while.

Cheers,
Jens

Make sure you don't use the stoneage version. There's a new one out now. Anyway, I think I could do it without any integration, just with a page combining the DVDProfiler and IMDB CCFs.

Don't worry Tor, Rob contacted me so it's under control! :D

Cool, Rob and yourself sould be able to produce just what we need.

Does your code automatically get the info based on DVD Serial? or does it require user input?

Dan,

nope it doesn't use dvd serials.. Can you actually search IMDb for that?? If so, let me know how, cuz I can't find it, and I'll take a look into including that.

I don't know....

OK!! Version 1.0 is available at the top of the tree!

For the next version I'll take a proper look at integration with LUADVDJB, better error handling and alternative handling of multiple search hits.

Hope you'll enjoy it!

Cheers,
Jens

I just tried the IMDB parser and I use the demo ccf that came with it and I can not get the search to work. The Title and the URL function works but when I type in the search a movie name, I get the movie title to say parsing but nothing comes up.

Any clue?

Thanks,

Tal

that's because the text input box won't change the variable name before you actually press ENTER, so just press Enter after you've changed the search field.

I wonder if there is a work around for that? Is there one you know of?

yeah, sure, use AvidUtils for the input box instead and it should solve your problem...

When I press the Enter button, I get a beep sound and when I press the search, nothing is coming up. It does take a second more the if I do not press the ENTER button but still no go. As I said before, the rest of the functions are working great.

I tried it on Win32 and my new PPC.

Don't know dude... it works for me, doing exactly what you're doing. You could use the AvidUtils text input instead, that should work better I guess.

Jens,

Did you ever get the word wrap to work in the Avid Slider Boxes?

Yes, for some reason it worked once I took away 40 from the IR code to use the font specified in the ccf.
