Im attempting to use Girder with Avermedia Avertv Studio but have not had much luck. I now see that some are reporting no support for this device through Girder. Is this true? Can I not use Girder?
If I can not, can someone recommend to me a similar program to use until Girder supports my device?
Thanks much in advance,
Randy

Have you tried the plugins on the download page?

I couldnt really find any explanation on how to use them... I tried loading them, but dont think they loaded up properly....
Is there a howto that explains how to load up the plugins? All of the documentation I found was geared towards setting up the client AFTER the remote was already working....

Randy,
Once you download the plugin, unzip it in to the girder/plugins directory. Start Girder. Goto file/settings/plugins. Find your plugin. Click the check box next to it. Click apply. Press some buttons on the remote to see if the light on the lower bar of girder flashes.

I loaded the "AverMedia TVCapture 98" driver. When I hit the "1" button, the green light turns yellow and stays yellow, until i hit the two button (or some other button). Some other buttons act the same way... I would think that the green light should change colors and then back to green?
Does this sound like a configuration issue or driver issue? BTW, thanks again for all of your help!

Normally, the button would go green/yellow/green.
I don't have the hardware to test. I though I saw 2 plugins for your card in the download area. Did you try the other one. And, I would think you shouldn't have the software that came with the remote running...

When trying to load the other driver, I get the following error after I click "apply":
"Error during importing functions from AVERMEDIA library"
The Plugin extracted into the "averdvbt" directory inside the plugins directory, so i copied all the files contained in it into the drivers directory manually.
I tried copying the averTV2K.dll file into the drivers directory too-- it didnt help.
I still have the "default.GML" file loaded-- not sure if this makes a difference.

The second plugin doesn't sound good at all.
I am not sure we have a driver that will work with your card :(

Thanks again for all of your help. If anyone else has the AverTV Studio card and manages to get Girder working, please post some more info in this thread, I am being notified of any new posts here and would GREATLY appreciate it!
