I recently stated using the Voice Command for media player from WinXP Plus. What it does is allows you to launch playlists, genres or play specific artists as well as standard commands such as play etc with voice commans such as " Media Player play artist Aerosmith". Anyway, while the speech recognition works pretty well, and is a great way to navigate, I don't want the Mic to be recieving commands while the music is playing so I set up girder with a remote command which mutes the media player while activating the microphone on the language bar. The problem I run into is that occasionally the media player will already be muted and so when I send the command, it opens up the mic while unmuting the media player. Is there a way to have them check the state of either the mute or the Microphone button on the language bar so I can make sure that the media player will be muted when the Microphone is activated? This would be similar to the check state command, but expanded to buttons.

If you use the volume controls in Girder, you can have the mute contol status put into a register(25 btw). Seems to be 2 when play muted, 0 if not. I don't use this but maybe you can go from here.
