I searched MSDN and i couldn't find a windows message to advance the track of a playing movie in Windows Media Player, 6.4/7.0. I don't want to fast foward to different tracks, but i want to be able to move a few seconds ahead in the current playing movie. Any ideas?

The ctrl-f, b dun seem to work! G-Media player is kool, cept i have a request. Becuase i don't have compiling software, i can't make the following changes. I want a function to do Always on top and the ability to send system commands to increase the volume and decrease the volume like the real media player!

Tried that, does nothing. I am using windows media player 6.4 btw. I like the lower resources wmp6.4 uses.

There's also a keyboard commands for this kind of thing:

ctrl-b : track backwards
ctrl-f : track forwards

ctrl-shift-b: rewind
ctrl-shift-f: fast forward

The rewind and fast forward work like a vcr's buttons.. took me a couple mins to figure that one out

That's odd.. here are my settings anyway:

Fast Forward: Control, Shift, "f" (in the sentence box), alternative process checked and my target is just the executable "wmplayer.exe"

for rewind, it's the same thing except Control, Shift, "b" (instead of "f")

Hope this helps

This is why Ron made the GMediaPlayer, get it on the Girder download page (towards bottom under Misc. or something). The zip includes a .gir file showing how to control it.
