Have a look at Zoom Player (http://www.inmatrix.com/zplayer/). I believe that it has features for both per-disc and default language matching. It should be able to use the filters you got with WinDVD. And it is Girder friendly for playback control.

My son is able to run my home theater (Onkyo 939, HTPC, Barco 808) with a small remote with only a few buttons. But the one thing I can't figure out is how to get his Disney DVD's to play automatically in norwegian (usually there's a bunch of languagues on those discs). I don't think it's possible to do this within PowerDVD or WinDVD. I remember my old DXR-2 & DXR-3 sets, where the player could be set up to use a certain languague if it excisted on the disc. But there's no such settings (at least I can't find them) on PowerDVD & WinDVD.

So can Girder help me with this? What I do now is let him circle through the languagues with a button until they start talking norwegian. But that solution is both messy and annoying, since he always looses the first lines in movies. Can anybody help me here? Can it be possible via DVD spy or something like that?

Is this freeware/Open Source as well? I don't think I've seen it. And where is the homepage?

Yeah! ZoomPlayer works! And it rocks, to use the language of the young people today (of which I'm afraid I'm not one...). I just create an autoload bookmark with Norwegian as audio language, and my son can just put the DVD into the drive and go ahead!

Well, no, I actually didn't know that. I don't think I've heard about it before. Anyway, for now ZoomPlayer works perfectly for me.
