Hi,

I have seen this and may buy one. I am just wondering if it is possible to use the serial port plugin with it?

Here are the links
This is the site that sell it.
http://www.quasarelectronics.com/3145.htm

Here is the PDF.
http://www.electronic-kits-and-projects.com/kit-files/3000/3145.pdf

It says in the PDF, you can access the data from terminal, so I am assuming it will be possible.

I am sure I saw a post about this somewere else on the forum but I just can't find it!

The other think is. Is it possible to use one of those USB to serial converters with it? Does anyone know of some good ones?

Thanks for any input.

:P

Looks like it just sends a stream of data - so it should work.

I have two of these hooked up to my PC with Girder control:

One unit can accept two temperature probes. Very simple ASCII interface -- give any input to the unit, and it outputs the temps in ASCII.

Hi Mike,

I saw one of your previous posts about those. But they are relatively expensive. Compared with this thing.

I am feeling real poor at the moment! :)
