Just purchased Global Cache, Netremote, and Viewsonic V110 airpanel for my system.
Have infrared emitters working through GC to control cable box and dvd, but would also like to control my Sony TV through the Control-S feature and my Denon receiver through the RS232 feature of the GC.

Do I need to use girder with netremote to control the receiver throught the RS232? Or am I missing something?

And is it possible to send the GC the Sony Control-s codes directly from Netremote? I'm using a1/8" mono plug from the GC to the tv and have the GC set to IR,no carrier but can't seem to get any response from the TV. I'm sending the tv a learned infrared code in a similar way as the straight infrared code for the cable box and dvd.

I'm new to this, so take it easy on me and thanks for a great program and support.

In theory, GC is able to reproduce any TTL-level signal you sample. I don't remember though if controlS was a bidectional signal or not. If that is the case you are stuck with the GC. Otherwise you could connect the controlS instead of an LED to one of the outputs and provide the correct signals.

Thanks for the link. After looking at it and doing a little more research I've come to the conclusion the simplest method is to go out and buy another IR emitter for the tv. The information from Sony and the Control-S system if very limited. I'd rather spend my time desinging my .ccf file.

How about the RS232 thru the Global Cache to the Denon receiver? Is utilizing Netremote thru Girder the right path to take?

Thanks again

Brain,

You can use G or NR. I know Ben is doing this from NR.
