I can install 1.0.9.0 without issue on my simpad, yet the latest release doesnt not install.. has anything changed?

Hi Mikey - are you saying it doesn't install, or won't run after install?

Hi, it doesnt install. It runs through to the end of the install on the PC, says to look at the pda for further steps and it very quickly flashes something. There is nothing installed.

If I do the same routine with the October release, it installs on the PC, then when I look at the simpad screen you can watch it install..

Same problem here. Version from early December won't install on Simpad. Haven't tried latest version. Currently using a version from November (don't have Simpad with me so I can't say which version number I am using...sorry!)

Got the same problem with NetRemote IR 1.0.16.0. Installations seems OK, but nothing happens on the Simpad (no files, no icons).

Support team please help !!!

By the way, where can I download the old installable version (can only see newest one on download site) ?

Still no answer. Neither here nor via email. I bought this software ! Iit is no freeware, so why nobody cares about ???

Did you try to download the CAB version and run it from the Simpad?

I had the same problem with the latest release and used one of the older ones and then ran the latest release and it went fine.

One thing I got to say about NR is that we have a great community here and everyone is helping each other.

Hi Tal,

Sorry for my impatience, but I was burning to use this software on my Simpad ! It was not my purpose to attack someone here in this forum. Ben has answered me meanwhile, and I am sure, that a solution will be found. I will try to use the cabfile now.

Do you also have the Fake DLL's in the windows directory and the mfcce300.dll in the NR dir?

If you do not have the Fake DLL's, let me know and i will send them your way.

By the way, I had the fake dlls and an old installer from october worked fine.. stated above.

I also tried the cab directly on the simpad and it wouldnt run.

Yes, the fake dlls are in the windows directory, but I have no NR directory, because after installation (apparently successful) has finished, nothing (really nothing) was installed.

I have found the issue, and it appears to be an incompatibility in trying to install to "Windows\Start Menu" (although it looks like it should install to "Windows\Favorites" on the Simpad using the same "code").

I've changed this (for now), but need to run through some tests to ensure compatibility with PPCs, but for now, you can install the newest release(s) as cab files directly to the Simpad here:

NetRemoteIR.cab (http://www.netremote.org/dl/install/NetRemote-IR-17-Jan-2005.cab)
NetRemoteMusic.cab (http://www.netremote.org/dl/install/NetRemote-Music-17-Jan-2005.cab)
NetRemotePro.cab (http://www.netremote.org/dl/install/NetRemote-Pro-17-Jan-2005.cab)

Additionally, these cab files will put shortcuts in the start menu now on the Simpad. You should run it from that shortcut.

I finally got xxxx.16 installed, but it appears to me that the only way to remove/install/reinstall NetRemote Pro on the Axim X30 is to hard reset it everytime. Otherwise, I get at least a cir.dll can't be deleted error if not more on remove or re-install.

It's just a plain Wince.net device. The Airpanel V110 and V150 are the smartdisplays. I hacked one once but that was before I discovered netremote so I'm not sure what stuff you'd have to put on it to get it to work. For example it doesn't have any built-in IE so you have to create one using MS Platform builder.

I have a V150P that I have been trying to get setup. I downloaded ms platform builder (5.0) but I am unable to get anything working, I am starting to feel stupid. Is there any detailed instructions on how to create or install programs on the V150P. I do not understand how to get NetRemote installed on my device. I have PetPanels Hack installed and can access the file system but that is all I have been able to accomplish.

Any help would be appreciated!
