I don't understand much of windows messages and that kind of stuff, but is it possible to make Albumlist play for instance album number 1023 via Girder? I would like that to simplify playing for my wife. I'll print out a list of my albums and their numbers and then just show her to input the three or four digits necessary and press a key for enter, and then it should start playing.
The whole point is that she won't have to turn on the TV to navigate the albums. Am I dreaming, or what?

Thanks, I read that thread. But I'm afraid I didn't quite get (well, to be honest, I'm totally lost on this) how to program the windows message. Do you have a gxr somewhere? That would really help me!
Or easier: Just tell me what message I need the register to send to the albumlist plugin (in the same format as it's in the send message plugin for Girder).
UPDATE: I tried the file that you posted in the forum (after formatting it correctly, it came without the three spaces before each line and with a space at the end of each line), and it works! Only thing is that it fooled me the first time since it displays the same thing as it used to, like "Starting playlist1.m3u", and since you had kept the original "Thing to do" in the timeout group (so that really tried to start playlist this and this). Thanks!

Yes, but these are for two different setups. One steady setup where I use Media Jukebox and the playlist.gir (because it's on the same computer as the files) and another setup for three other rooms in the house, where I use the simpler Winamp and albumlist plugin-setup, since I can't use static playlists (like in Playlist.gir). Every now and then I change the network configuration and I would have to create all new playlists for the "client" computers then. Besides Media Jukebox is kind of confusing and intimidating for my six year old...

After pestering Safai (programer for albumlist) a bit, i got him to add the ability to type numbers into the 'Album jump to' list to play the coresponding album. (Thanks again Safai) It works pretty much fine except for a few glitches with albums with numbers in the name. Also, it work with more than 3 digit numbers. (Icurrently have 1700 albums and can retreive 99.8% of them). I've posted the link below with the beta version that he tweaked for the number entries into the Jump To dialog box.
My whole intention is to do as Mastiff wants to do..., to print out a list and be able to use while never turning on the Tube.

I am wondering if anyone could help though, I am having couple of issues with the Jump To Dialog box.
1. I can set a command to bring it up with Albumlist 'Jump To' dialog box. But I am unable to bring it up 'active'. It comes up fine but inactive. I've setup the classname, executable etc up and it comes up whether in foreground or not. I'm not sure what else I can do to make this work.
2. The 'Jump to' dialog box doesn't recognize the keyboard numbers commands (keyboard command with 0-9 setup as sentence or numpad 0-9.) My workaround involves my 'Airboard' IR keyboard and have learned the number keys to my remote directly. I would rather do it directly through girder though.

Wow, talk about the past catching up with me! This posting is from the old forum, which is why the date is changed. My guess is that it's close to a year old! Anyway, I now use the group that MPEGErnie helped me with, and Media Jukebox. I do have Winamp on two of my secondary zones (at times three), but I don't use Albumlist anymore. Have you tried the "set focus"-command in Girder? That should work.

I wondered about that February date at the bottom of the messeges! Anyway, set focus does not seem to work. I've kinda created a workaround with success so I will work with that for now.
Does Media Jukebox live up to all the hype in the AVS forums?

For my use it does. With DFX it sounds very good, and the library management system is great. I've got it on all the computers in my house. The multimedia server in the basement is connected by LAN to them all, so I can play music and ripped DVDs. But mainly it drives my multimedia server's main channel, which is the living room and my home theater. I control it with Girder and NetRemote from my PPC or just Girder and IR remotes with IR blasters in five places in my house. As for the other channels I use one instance of Winamp for each, like I said, since there so far are no MP3 players that can operate on several zones, unfortunately.
But MJB is better than all the others I've tried, like Music Match, APE, Siren.
