I'd be interested to know if any of the X10 remotes (Anywhere, etc.) work with the ATI receiver and vice-versa.

An early notice came out this week that ATI will be releasing the "Remote Wonder", which is the remote package on its own,
and remote software 1.1 I believe is also due very very soon.

The remote is now available on its own at the ATI store.
Remote software 1.1 is also out.

Hi all,
The USB RF Remote that comes with the ATI 8500DV (and newer, cheaper 7500DV) is a USB X10 remote. Does anyone know if Girder can work with these remotes? The ATI software is pretty limited and I'm sure I could program Girder to do all the things their software does and more. (It does have 6 "programmable" buttons, but the functions they can perform are limited to a pick list of features that ATI lets you select)
It shows up under "X10 Devices" - it's listed as ATI Wireless Remote Receiver v2.33, and the filename of the driver is actually x10uif.sys, if that info helps anyone...
Thanks,
Paul Taylor

BUMP
Anyone?
The software that comes with it assumes you only want to use their DVD Player, etc. It's not very configurable, and there is no On-Screen Display for Volume, which is kind of annoying..

i just downloaded girder and i havent even tried it out yet. I only got it in the hopes that i can use it with my RF remote with my ATI all in wonder.
Anyway, just thought you might wanna know that the remote in fact works with some other programs. The thing works quite well with Cyberlink's POWERDVD player. Can i assume taht it works with other programs?
well, i'm about to see if i can get this thing to work with my ATI rf remote. laters.

I also have the ATI remote as part of my AIW Radeon 7500. I would definitely be interested in a driver for this input device.
According to the ATI remote documentation, non-ATI apps should respond to some of the remote keys (mute, volume, play, pause, ff, rw, and stop) as long as the app responds to the WM_APPCOMMAND call.
Is there a way to capture these calls for apps that don't do this?
Winamp doesn't seem to respond to these keys and it would be great to get at least that app working.
Thanks,
Kevin
