I'm messing around with the "mc_800x600_3" CCF by Ben S, looking at the "covers" view that provides a linear alternative to the tree view.

If you go down to the bottom level, "artist/album/track" and click a song to play, it will start playing that song and stop afterwards. Is it not possible to have it play the rest of the tracks from the album after it's finished that one track, just like any other media player would do if you would select the track in the same way (winamp, itunes, wmp etc). It just seems "wrong" to only play 1 song in this way.

Anything can be done with NR :) But it needs a little knowledge, help and effort on your part too :( You will need to modify the ccf or create your own to add this feature. Well, not exactly what you want but you can easily add a single button that will show (or play) the whole of the album that the currently playing song is on. Then you can choose to add the whole album or individual tracks from that album.

Check out my CCF (sorry but it's only 320x240) to see how it's done. This requires you to set up some view schemes in MC as explained in the readme file. Then just click the album cover which has some special actions on it that will show you the currently playing album.

[Edit - you are using MC aren't you? Since you are using the MC CCF I assumed you are. If not then maybe you should give it a go.]

Hi, I have no problems in editing the CCFs, seem quite straight forward, however, some of the advanced programming I'm not familiar with.I'm using Itunes, I have all my tracks in apple lossless format. I also dont use albums covers(preference) so it's hard for me to see the example on your CCF, that and the fact that I'm using iTunes. In fact media bridge crashes when I click the cover icon on your latest CCF. The play controls on the "playing" panel dont seem to work either, when using a windows xp client I get a green and a grey selection. I can select other tracks which will highlight grey, but one still stays green.

In the end I'm hoping to have just something VERY simple like the Ipod interface, very minimal.

If you are serious about using NR and feel able to design your own CCF then I would seriously recommend that you try the free trial of MC v10 and use that instead of iTunes. JRMC have a board on their forum dedicated to portables with plenty of information on iPOD support too.

With MC you can do much more when it comes to remote control via NR. Try the free trial with my CCF and you'll see what I mean.

Hello again mikea -

Yours is the most feedback I've gotten on the iTunes MediaBridge interface, so please let me know what other things are unstable for you and I'll do my best to get it resolved.

JLee - do you know if JRMC will play apple Lossless? My guess is that it will (since it will play the other iTunes formats), but can you double check?

Hello again mikea -

Yours is the most feedback I've gotten on the iTunes MediaBridge interface, so please let me know what other things are unstable for you and I'll do my best to get it resolved.

Here's a couple things I've noticed

# Playlists don't work on the client, as you know

# Media Bridge will crash if the you use the interface on the host PC. For example, simply clicking "party shuffle" will crash it, any kind of prompts will crash it too.

# Ive noticed sometimes that NetRemote will play tracks from the "25 most recent" playlist instead of the "NetRemote Playlist". Also, the screen switches to the "25 most recent" screen alot too. So if you have the "net remote" playlist on screen, all of a sudden the "25 most recent" playlist will pop up.

# Covers work different in iTunes, if a user chooses to add a cover in Itunes it embeds it inside the audio file. I don't actually use any covers, so I can't tell how it works for sure.

# Once the NR playlist has finished playing, on the client device it will clear itself. While on the host device it remains.

# Links to the point above. Once the playlist has cleared itself on the client. If you browse your library and select a track and choose "play next" it will not add it to the paying list on the client, but it does on the host. For example, right now in my iTunes the "NetRemote playlist" on my host has 16 tracks, it just played 15. The 16th was just added to play next. On my client device, this list is completely blank!! In order to get anything back on the client list, you have to play it.

The biggest thing I'd want to see, is if NR could play tracks straight from the Library, rather than having to create it's own playlist. Like I said before.
