Hi, Just purchased NetRemote today and had a couple of questions...

1) will you be releasing a CCF file to control Windows MCE 2005 or does everyone write their own?
2) will there be a plug-in to support the MCE USB IR receiver?

Anyone know if the PPC client will work on the CE based Viewsonic Airboard?

Thanks,

Don

1. A quick search of the forum for MCE would have helped you here.

2. Not sure what this is. The favourite around here is the USB-UIRT from http://www.usbuirt.com

Hi,

Yeah, I did search read those posts yesterday, I guess what I was looking for was a little assurance from someone at Promixis that they would provide a CCF, add-in or whatever for controlling MCE in the next X months... Just trying to decide whether to wait for the real thing or invest my time/energy on starting from scratch.

On the second point I was looking for an add-in (probably for Girder) so that it could accept and use signals from the IR receiver that comes with MCE and it's remote. While I care less about the MCE remote itself, it's receiver includes to IR blasters that MCE can use to control external STBs. I have USBUIRT but am not using it in favor of the MS receiver. I don't think MCE will recognize the USBUIRT receiver and leverage it to control STBs...

On the third point on the airpanel, I can install the hack to get into the Airpanel WInCE OS and install the NR client, just wondered if anyone had done this before I attempted it. Right now I RDP into a second user account on my HTPC and then use NR to conenct from that session to the primary session to control my media center. It works ok, but using the NR client to go straight to the primary session might work better.
