Hi there,

Ultra newbie here just evaluating NR Pro and its capabilities on interacting with JRMC10. What I am interested in the the WOL plug in in NR Pro, but can't seem to figure out how to configure this. I can see in NR on the PPC (Axim X30 WM2003) the WOL plug in and the option to configure the broadcast address, but how do I set the MAC address so the magic packet matches that of the network card on my host machine? I've seen other topics here relate to using Tonto to configure this (I've not checked this properly yet). I thought that the WOL feature would work like this - turn on PPC, start NR - WOL sends packet to network - Host PC wakes up and loads JRMC ready for NR to connect. Am I mistaken that this is the mode of operation? Also I have tested that WOL works on the Network Adapter on the machine by sending it the magic packet from a little Java program (i.e. to run in from cmd prompt, c:\java WakeOnLan 192.168.254.255 00-02-a5-f6-d2-17) this works everytime. Hope someone can help! A step by step guide on this would be great, or a link to the relevant info. Thanks

I think we have a blurb on wol in the pro guide... have you looked there?

I have read the info from the NetRemote Pro Guide 1.00.3, which does give a brief overview on how WOL can wake up the machine, but its a bit vague. At which point do I have to use tonto to configure the WOL plugin with the MAC address of the device I want to wake up (i.e. my PC). Should I install tonto first, then customise this plugin somehow and then send this to the PPC? Some guidance on exactly how to do this would be much appreciated.

Thanks

from NetRemote Pro Guide, page 54

WakeOnLan
WakeOnLan can be used to trigger an event to wake up a network device that has been
configured to allow for wake-up-events.
WakeOnLan does not need to be configured, as the event to wake is “blasted” to the entire
network, and any devices attached should get the event. The way a particular device knows if it is
to be awakened is using the MAC address of the network interface.
There is one plugin action to fire a WakeOnLan event, as seen below.

To wake up a network device :
It is necessary to assign the WOL action with tonto.
Create a button (Like wol.ccf).
Create IR Action :
- IR Action name : your MAC Address (eg:00:08:74:ED:34:A3)
- Data : 5001 0000 0000 0002 fffc 0000 0000 0000

Configure WOL plug in NetRemote Pro.

That's all.
