I tried to close my GML by right clicking on it and selecting close and a whole bunch of error boxes popped up, and then everytime I move anything on the screen it makes more error boxes. The only way to get rid of all of them is to shut down Girder. The error that is visible now is:

Access violation at address 004052A3 in module 'girder.exe'. Read of address 03020302.

oops, I tried to close that box and now there is one that says

Access violation at address 005D7DEC in module 'girder.exe'. Read of address 30303642.

I'll give you one more in case you can establish a pattern:

Access violation at address 005D7FDA in module 'girder.exe'. Read of address 043546D0.

Thanks.

That is no good obviousl! Sadly I cannot do anything with the bug report as is. You will have to tell me exactly what you did and what was in that file. Be acurate so I can reproduce the problem. Thanks!

Ron,

Is Girder 4 written in Delphi?

If so you may want to use madExcept (www.madshi.net)- you'll get a full stack trace for any exception and it will write out a log file that you can examine at your leisure.

I tried to close my GML by right clicking on it and selecting close...

I'm not sure how much more specific I can be. I right-clicked on my imported GML in the box on the right, chose close, and it freaked out on me.

What other info do you need?

I'm guessing, but in Ron's shoes I'd ask :-

1) Does it do it consistently with that gml? If so, then Ron will want to see it.

2) Did you make any changes to it? If so, then what changes.

3) What else did you do before you imported it?

That's really strange. I can't reproduce the same problem anymore.
I tried 3 times before reporting it and now it doesn't happen anymore.

I will answer Rah99's questions anyhow.
1: I already sent Ron my GML.
2: I had started changing the links on my nodes for enable/disable because I think the links were broken.
3: I did nothing before importing it. I may have checked my plugin settings, but I can't be certain.

this just happened to me... exit gml and girder has problems closing open script windows.

I had no open script windows. (FYI)

rah99, thanks for the hint about the maxexcept. I had been using a library before but it was giving me a lot of trouble instead of helping me fix things. I'll look into this one.

I think I might have found it, I will be releasing an update this weekend, so let me know if the problem is still around then.

Thanks!
