The learn event will only be enabled if the plugin supports an extended dialog.

Right now, simply select "raw: keyboard" from the first dropdown box (filter) and press the key that you want to learn. The 3rd dropdown box called eventstring will contain the key you just pressed. Simply select it.

Another way of adding events is using the logger! Simply open the logger, make the event happen (press keyboard in your case) then drag and drop that event onto the main tree where you want to have it.

Voila!

Sorry to say, but this method is very confusing...

ah, this yes, very simple to add events this way :D

Other think, Why dont you integrate the block/unblock keys to OS , like the old keyboardEX do?

It is on the list. I'll work a little more on that dialog :-)

The plhilips, Firefily and keyboard are actually coming from the Mapping feature. I accidentally left those in the default file.

Now you might wonder what Mapping is,.. well it's the holy grail! :-)

This will prevent you and me from having to relearn eventstrings forever!! Basically you tell Girder onces what kind of remote you have and what buttons are on there and from then on every Girder user on the plant will use the same eventstrings! How about that?

That's really cool. I also like the "drag from logger" feature. Very convenient indeed!

How would I have the logger displayed in the main window as it's shown in the demo? I can only show it in a seperate window. Thanks.

Drag the little bar at the bottom up and then drag the logger onto that field.

I thought it was tough at first too, but it's easy to get used to. All you have to do is click on the "detect source" button, then hit the key you want to use and select the bottom item from the third dropdown box. Then check off the ""down" key modifier and hit OK, and you're good to go.
I had to sit here and do that for about an hour today to modify my existing GML (and I'm still no where near to finished). Now it's second nature.
