Hi

I'm trying to set up this smart application. Downloaded the latest version.

The PC is a Dell Inspiron 8100 wil a build-in IR interface.
Is it possible to use this build-in interface or do i have to get an external one?

The plan was to use it with a universal remotecontrol that i use for my TV/Stereo.

I have browsed through the help file, but thought i was i little to much just explaining the function, and not so much "Just get started" ;-)

The light is green in Girder. Does this mean that my IR hardware works with Girder?

Can i check somewhere that the Girder receives commands from my Remote?

I have downloaded the WMP10 XML file but can get any of the events to execute with the remote (F5 works).

I need a kick so i just can se that something is working ;-) so i can start build my sofaoperated mediacenter ;-)

It's unlikely to work as is I'm afraid.

The IR hardware you've got is almost certainly IRDA, for transferring data to mobile devices. This doesn't normally work well for controlling normal AV electronics.

You'll probably need to get a USB-UIRT - www.usbuirt.com
