Girder Interference

I am using Girder 3.3.1c and an Evation IRMAN plugin on COM1. Girder is receiving IR codes at random, they are being displayed in the Girder toolbar, and I have no idea where they are coming from. Is it possible that a Wireless network can causing this issue? My previous plugin, IGOR, did NOT have this issue in the same environment...but I switched to IRMAN since it is rumored to be a better receiver, less overhead, etc.

When I do send a valid IR signal, Girder appears to pick it up, followed shortly by IR interference, so learning commands is next to impossible.

Anyone else experience a similar issue and ifso, how did you resolve?

Does this happen at all times of day? If only in the daytime then sunlight is a possible cause.

Do you have a plasma display? That's often a culprit

The IRMAN may just be more sensitive than the IGOR.

Believe it or not, at least it was a surprise to me, when I turned off my laptop the mysterious IR signals disappeared. I believe it was the wireless NIC card in my laptop that was sending the signals. They are now gone.

Irman is definately more sensitive than IGOR.

I am guessing it was the IrDA port of your laptop that was setting of the irman.
