Default Use Girder to activae MediaBridge Refresh Library command.

Use Girder to activae MediaBridge Refresh Library command.

    Hello All,

I love Netremote and Mediabridge, I tried to figure out a command to send to the mediabridge process which initiates the Refresh Library command. This seems the best way for the following problem:

    1. I use a seperatie WinXp workstation for downloading Music.
    2. This WinXp Ws saves those music files to a share on another win xp ws where my Mediaplayer and Mediabridge and Netremote and Girder resides.
    3. On this WinXp media pc i enabled in my windows media player the option : "Monitor Folders" and selected the folders where the other WinXp places the new downloaded music.
    4. After a download finishes the Windows Mediaplayer notices the "new" music files after a few minutes.
    5. It would be best that MediaBridge also checks those same "Monitored Folders" and when a change has been detected initiates a "Refresh Library" command.

Last option isn't available, but it would be also very nice that I could initiate the "Refresh Library" command with my remote controll and Girder. But i Tried several runs to check the right trigger in Girder.

Can someone Tell me what WParam and which LParam I need to send to the "NetremoteServer.exe" process?

Hope Someone has figured it out allready !

Best regards Tom from Tukkerland Holland.

    Tom,

How fast does WMP recognize new files? I have a similar setup to you. I have been using JRMC but have started to look at WMP because of the ease of buying music online and headaches with JRMC and WMP DRM.

We have thought about setting a default time to have MB refresh its cache.

We also could add a command the NR sends to the MB to have it refresh...

    Awesome!

It has been requested to have a way for NetRemote to tell the server to refresh it's library. We'll add this to the next release.

    Thanks!

The monitoring folders option works within minutes. At my setup, you only need to add the folders who matter.

Yes. It's in the current pre-release (rev 40 and newer). You'll need to create an action -10,2,255 with IRName of "X REFRESHCACHE"

Is this function available from girder? I'd like to have Girder automatically tell MediaBridge to refresh at a certain time when I know new contect has been automatically downloaded into iTunes.

If available what is the action script in Girder?

You should be able to target an action against the "refresh media library button" from Girder.

If not, Marcel has written some code to connect to MediaBridge from Girder. You could then execute the X REFRESHCACHE through this mode.
