Generally speaking these onboard IR modules are IrDA devices. IrDA Devices are not suitable for remote control purposes.

They use a different frequency of light and where never designed to decode remote control signals.

There is a slim chance that your IrDA device will work with Girder, if so then this

plugin might be it. Do not ask questions about it in the forum nor in an email to Ron.
