Default W800RF32A RF X10 Receiver. Anyone got one?

    Hi,

    Is anyone using a W800RF32A with G4?

If so, how do you find it? What is the range like? What is the responce time?

Are you in the UK or Europe or over the pond?

    Tell me all!

I am interested because the responce time of my lights comming on from a motion sensor detection is slow! So much so, I have to do a mini hack. Were I have one lamp on the same code as the motion sensor the others G4 controls, but they take upto 6 seconds to come on!
    Thx, Dan

I have the W800 and it works well.

    6 seconds! Ouch.

I am about 1-2 seconds from sensor to response.

    At least 30-50 feet.

However, I am not sure that is you problem... It makes me think something else is going on with the x10 in your flat.

Nothing else going on X10 wise. Nothing shows up on the event logger etc.

The problem I beleive is with the time it takes for the X10 code to be sent to G4 from the RF transceiver down the powerline, remember that it will a fairly long time to get there, as the X10 is only modulated at 50Hz.

With the W800 it should be quicker as you are not dependent on the mains as the carrier. Hence save when transmitting the signal to your pc.

The Range you quote is not as I expected, is yours the type with the built in antenna?
    Thx, Dan
