Default Trial asks for code ???

    Hi There,

I've just downloaded the trial of netremote pro and started it up and it asks for a code....thought there was a 30 trial ???

If i click on cancel it shuts, the link just takes me to the main promixis web site ???

I'm looking at this for using a progear webpad as a remote for TheaterTek on my HTPC and controling various av gear squirted out as IR via a usb-uirt and xantech ir links etc

Which version did you download and have you tried any previous versions?

Also, if this is 2.0 and you're running Windows 98 on your Progear you may need to wait a few more days to put our non-unicode build up.

    Hi there,

    NetRemote-Pro-Suite-11-Aug-2005.exe

Is the exe....i can't get so far as to see the version number you see :-)

I'm actualy trying to run it on my general XP machine rather than either my HTPC or my progear (still actualy awaiting delivery on that one). I wanted to see what it can do etc before clogging my HTPC up with various trials etc.

I don't think i've actualy tried netremote before, maybe a few years back when dabbling with a sumo/webDt web pad i have, but its CE v2 IIRC and i couldn't much more than the standard installed apps to run on it, hence its looking pretty at the back of my desk and i have a progear on its way.

Unfortunately Lee it sounds like it thinks you have installed it before. I'd recommend trying NetRemote 2.0, which is in beta now but is close to release. It will reset your trial to 30 days.

    Hi There,

Yep. 2.0.69 seems to work. Will have a play and then download it onto my progear when it gets here.

    Hi There,

Well the good news is it runs on my main PC....however i can't get it going on my progear. It runs win 98 and searching through the archives there is a problem with unicode ??? Something abou 1.044 version runs...is this available as a trail ???

So far i've spent a few days trying to find software to use the progear as a remote, i know people are doing it but its not that easy. I've tried xlobby and thats quite nice as a front end, though the controls seem to be lacking on the cinema side...binary metals DTP is curious but slow and costs extra for almost everything and mainlobbys pricing is a joke. Netremote reminds me of my old pronto from years ago, which is kinda endearing though the designer and capabality seem to have increased the learning curve has too.

Did you download the Windows 98 version just posted recently in the NR 2 release thread? Version 2.0.0.70.

    Hi There,

Cunningly hidden from the main downloads - Might be an idea to put a link to the thread or mention it there.

As it is, i now have MS Visual C++ runtime error - app has requested runtime to terminate in an unusual way....no details though !

    Any ideas ???

    Thanks,
    Lee
