IR via NR/G4/GC?
Help i am struggling here!
I have been using NR with G3.3 and Slink-e for awhile now. I am loading a new pc and am installing NR2, G4 (latest beta) and a global cache device. I am trying to get my old NR ccf updated to work with the new setup.
I have the IR commands working fine in G4 to the GC. When i test the IR commands (F5) they all work fine (for example [power_on]).
I am using NR designer to try and get my old NR skin working. I have a simple button and using the action designer i add a "Send Event to Girder" and fill in the 'compiled action string' and 'event' with 'power_on'. When i test the button, girder shows the name of the button in the lower status bar, and, the log display shows [souce: communication server], [details: power_on]. But nothing gets to the GC! Help!
In the G4 settings, netremote and comm server are both enabled and the IR Passthrough is set to 'global cache' with the IP set to 192.168.1.70.
In NR settings, i have a girder instance -1 and -2001 set to my PCs IP, port 20005, and the TEST works. The IR instance -3 is also set to my IP, Global Cache driver mode.
PLease help! I am musicless until i get this working! That means no Elvis.

If the event strings match between NR and Girder then the most likely cause is that the device numbers are different. Simplest thing is to open the logger in Girder, press the button in NR and then drag the event to the IR send action in your GML. Then press the button in NR again and the IR should be sent.

Thanks Rob:
That seems to have helped me figure it out and now i have NR buttons triggering girder actions that send IR code to the GC using configurable zones. Hooray!
