DigiTV and Girder 'not talking' via Netremote
I have been evaluating Netremote V2 for the past three weeks and my main objectives before I purchase NR WHP is to prove that I can use Netremote to 'talk' with DigiTV via Girder, however I am having problems.
Basically Girder and DigiTV are not 'talking' with each other. I have had help from Avid (Brian) and he suggested that I post a new thread on Girder instead as it is agreed that the problem is not with Netremote.
Here is the link that will provide anyone with further information of the problem I have been experiencing:-

So if anyone can assist me, then please do as at present I only have 'six' days left......if I want to purchase Netremote WHP! (already have Girder V4 Pro).
All I want to do is prove that I can remotely watch, change channels, record programme from Netremote (from my PDA) via girder to DigiTV....if this is proved then I will purchase the product!

Hi,
I use Girder/NR to control DigiTV and it works like a charm. I have a girder script that sets variables in NR to display title, description and times info including a progress bar for whats currently on all channels now and next, and also whats on the currently tuned channel. I also use AVID's EPG server to give me full PVR control.
All functions (channels, volume, info etc) almost always work perfectly.

I can confidently say it will work, i will be at home @ 6pm (GMT +10) so if you can be on then i will do what i can to help out.

First step work out if the DigiTV plugin is working correctly. To do this after starting Girder and DigiTv check in your Variable inspector for a table named 'digitv' there should be a table within that named 'tuners' and it should have a sub table called '#1' the values in this table should reflect the currently tuned channel in DigiTV and change when the channel changes.
To view the variable inspector choose 'Variable Inspector' from the 'View' drop down menu on your toolbar (or press F12). Dont forget you will need to refresh the list to check if it is updating.
Once we have established this part is working we can move on.

ok...
i kinda find it hard to visualize what is happenening for you. I've never had any problems with viewing the variable inspector. I can only suggest you keep playing around with it to see if you can work out what's happening.

Ok I understand, but surely someone from Promixis team can help me to stop this 'variable inspector' from disappearing everytime I try to inspect, after all this is their product that is misbehaving! So where are they when I need them?

I'm not clear just what you are seeing with the variable inspector.
If you can use some screenshots to illustrate the problem we may be able to help.

As I have now managed to get DigiTV working in Girder (V4) from Netremote (V2).
In trying to create my own CCF (currently using Brain - Avid CCF & Lua) I cannot seem to grasp the connection from NR to DigiTV via Girder. I thought that NR calls all the variable that exist in DigiTV via variable tables, but the variables that CCF calls don't simply exist in Girder (not from what I can see?), so how does it know it relates to Digitv, for example TV.OPEN, TV.1 .....TV.9, TV.Refresh, TV.NowNext, TV.Mute etc. I cannot find any reference to how TV is mapped to DigiTV and where the variable comes from?
Can anyone help out?
