You need a plug-in inside Girder to use your your home made blaster. don't break your head and buy an USB-UIRT. I even think that USB-UIRT work directly with BTV

    Good luck

I too am having the similar problem. I haven't figured out how to get the winlirc plugin to transmit using Girder.
I have a built my own rcvr/trns which connects to the serial port. Can't use a USB type because of the distance. I have WinLirc running on a server in the basement and the rcv/trms in the upstairs living room. Using RS-232 over cat5 and its working beautifully.

The Girder winlirc receive IR function works perfectly. I can also transmit manually directly using the WinLirc program window.
There is supposeldly a "Winlirc-action", but I've searched everywhere in Girder and do not see or understand how to get the winlirc plug in to transmit.
I've alread preprogrammed all the remotes now I just need to know how tie it all together.
I think I'm missing something. The Girder winlirc plugin instructions are very brief and not very clear on how to make a transmition.

Currently my main purpose for Girder is for Remote control translation between different brands, then later more automation. I want to make sure it will do what I think it can do before I purchase.

Any clarification on how to set up Girder to transmit using the winlirc plug-in would be very appreciated.

    Thanks
    Brent
