Default Browsing Library on 2nd PC

    Hi All,

    I have Girder5 NR2 WHP Vista 32 Using JRMC12

All the Music is stored on a Hard Drive attached to the 'Master' PC

Girder, MediaBridge, JRMC12 all start on this Machine

I have installed NR2 on my Wife's Laptop. I declined to install MediaBridge...don't know why just did

I have copied my CCF & all other files that start the same into a Network Directory.

I have selected this CCF and have set the 'plugins bit' & 'Default Host' to 'Master'

The CCF opens after a flash screen that says 'Error Registering type lib'

when I go to 'Music Main' it shows the tracks and play list
when I go to 'Library' there's nothing there..not in Artist, Album, Playlists

I'm guessing that the problem lies in the Lua that I moved?

If you could point-prod-kick me in the right direction it would help

    Cheers

    Mark

I don't think I've ever seen the 'Error registering type lib' message here.

One thing - I would probably not recommend loading the CCF from a network drive - NR expects to have write access to the CCF file

    Default error registering type lib

Reviving a dead thread here but I am getting the same error message upon startup.

The client is a Windows Client on Windows 7 32 bit.
The ccf is local and seems to load fine after the error message. In fact multiple ccfs load and communicate with Jriver as expected.

My problem is that I have 3 buttons that control my Amp via Girder 4.
The Girder part works fine and the same ccf works fine on other machines I've tried.
On the trouble PC I can connect to the Girder host when I do a test but it doesn't seem to actually send the event. Again this only happens on this machine and this machine is the only one I get this "error registering type lib" on. I have multiple PCs and Mulitple OSs including PPCs that all execute this girder event without issue.

I've also uninstalled and re-installed (including older version of NR). Firewall is off on both machines.

edit: did I mention I am pulling my hair out on this?

As a temporary measure, I'd suggest disabling UAC if you're okay with that, I think that should work around it. Alternatively, you could try changing the compatibility settings for NetRemote to Windows XP SP3 and see if that fixes it.

I did think that I'd found a solution to this, but alas it didn't work properly.

I'll try disabling UAC when I get back to that PC. I do have NR running successfully on 2 other Win7 PCs in the house with UAC enabled.

There is definitely something strange going on here - it's stopped reporting that message here now with the latest release build, which is going to make it hard to track down.

I think I have it - can you try running NR once as Administrator (right click on the shortcut and select Run as Administrator). Give it permission to run and then close NR. You should find that next time you run it it will not give the error message - unless that is you have another copy of NetRemote installed in a different location on the same PC.

Can anyone having this problem confirm the suggested fix works for them too?
