    Initial findings:
My GML was immediately deleted from the GML directories of both of my Girder installations somehow. I managed to find a backup in the appdata folder.
My Elk plug-in will not install for Girder 5.1. I have tried reinstalling it to the correct directory and it does not show up in the component manager.

Did you uninstall Girder before you installed? The installer does not touch the old directory at all and doesn't delete any files on installation. It might overwrite the default GMLs.. what files was deleted and where was it? I'll test the ElkM1 plugin

I didn't uninstall version 5 of Girder before installing 5.1.
The GML in question was in the GML directory of Girder 5. When I started 5.1 I realized that I would have to copy my GML to the new directory and load it from there so that I wouldn't mess up my old one if there were any incompatibilities. I closed 5.1, opened 5, hit "save as" and tried to save in the new GML directory. I then closed 5 and opened 5.1, hit load and navigated to where I had saved. I could not find the GML and investigating further, I discovered the original was missing as well.
Very strange indeed. The file was just called new1.GML.
    Thanks.

Oh before I forget did you see any errors in the log or lua console about the ElkM1 or otherwise?

I see one error in the interactive Lua console:

LOG: Component Manager : 5 - Transport Manager Could not find class C:\Program Files (x86)\Promixis\Girder5\luascript\transport\devices \mceIr.lua

and I assume that is because I haven't got around to installing that plug-in yet for my laptop media remote. There is nothing in the Logger, either.
The installer runs its course fine and does not give me any errors. I am able to enter my key in the license manager, but it says "Product: unknown"

W.r.t. file save, I'm at a complete loss as to why Girder would delete both files, in fact Girder makes a backup of the file it's about to overwrite (in same directory called <ORIGINAL_NAME>.BAK

W.r.t. ELK-M1, I've installed it here (it even picked up the correct location of G5.1) and it works.

I think there might be a green goblin messing with your computer.

Aargh! Again? Ok. I'll back up my GML, uninstall both versions, disable my (kaspersky) anti-virus and firewall which sometime acts like it's a virus itself, reinstall Girder and the Elk plugin to the appropriate directory and report back to you on how it goes.
    Thanks for checking it out.
