I have an UIR as an input driver, and i using APM plugin to put my system into suspend state. Everything works well, but when GIRDER executes any APM command, it automatically disables itself, so i can't wakeup computer by key-press on remote.
Can't you make something like this checkbox:
[ ] Close COM port when system goes into suspend
Thanx.

Hmm,..
I've had this question before. If you want
to reeable the computer via the UIR the
computer will wake up on _any_ ir signal that
comes by not only the ones that Girder knows
about. So if that is no problem I could
look at it.

Ron ; can you believe this ? Some people are using Girder in their card. Isn't that something ??
My 2 cents regarding the APM issue ; my input device is an infrared keyboard and when Girder puts the system in standby, the computer wakes up on any keypress which is fine for me.

Hehe, well that is a nice place
to see Girder popup
Can you set the bios of the computer
to wakeup on IRQ 3 or 4, the IRQ of the
comport that the UIR is hooked up to?
Does that help or not yet?

Did you see the schematic of UIR? It uses DTR line as the power source. Girder closes COM, and lowers DTR, microcontroller goes out of power... And I think, setting wake-up by IRQ isn't a solution (simply, there's no data *at all*). BTW, i haven't such options in my bios
PS: please, make a checkbox
It would be nice solution for my troubles, and my car's battery life increases

Pre5 without APM disable
Try this executable, it doesn switch
the input devices off and it reinits them
on APM wakeup. Please let me know if it works

I will test it this evening, and i answer to you asap.
PS: Thanks again. I was surprised how fast you're replying and making modifications for end-users. Here, in Russia, it feels like magic

The changes that we spoke of are incorporated into Girder 3.0.21. You can find the change in the settings window on the "hardware" tab :
"Disable Plugins on APM event"

That is because Girder doesn't control the packard bell remote if i remember correctly you posted that you are using Winlirc. And since winlirc controls the hardware this setting would not influence the hardware. Only the communication from girder to Winlirc.
