    unfortuanatly that doesn't seem to be the problem because I was having problems with this before I installed the other software, that why I wanted to try something else .... to see if it worked !!
    I will uninstall everything again .....oh.. and yes I have tried to config igor,
    got the right port and got the the right type of signal as well !!

    ok.... getting somewhere now, I have got it to see the remote again
    after fiddling around for a while, now how do I map the to keys within progdvb?
    it looks really good girder but it isn't the easiest of things to just right into
    it sure aint been straight forward so far :-? , can someone just give me a few pointers ? once I see how to map 1 button then that will be it, I will suss it all out

    There is a basic tutorial in the online help. It talks about learning events for commands.
