Newbie needs help.

Hi,

I have a couple of things that I can't figure out. Please help! :smile:

Firstly how do I run a sequence of Girder commands at startup?

and

I can't fiqure out command groups so that a sequence is run when a program starts (Girder used to start the program as part of this sequence) and then continues with some more commands when the program is closed.

Hi,
Firstly, to run may commands at startup, you would have to create a multigroup to exicute at startup with either all the commands you wish to run, or goto's to all the commands. (After the first command has been exicuted, girder will return to the next 'goto' command and exicute that (More like a gosub :grin: )).

To run a sequence when a program starts, you would have to use the task create plugin.

Hi Jeffy,

Welcome to the Girder Forum :smile: You can have Girder run any Command or MultiGroup when Girder launches by right clicking on the Command or MultiGroup and selecting "On Open Girder" from the right click menu list.

As Mike indicated, you'll need the Task Create hardware plugin. I believe that this is included in the normal Girder install as there doesn't appear to be a seperate download for it. Anyway, you'll need to enable the plugin via File => Settings => Hardware Plugins (tab) => TaskCreate.

Once TaskCreate is enabled OK your way out of the setting menus. Next, select the Command or MultiGroup you want to run when you close a specific application. Click the "Learn Event" button and close your application. The left side of Girder's status bar show indicate "Captured IR code", the right side; YOURAPPLICATIONNAME.EXE [CLOSE].
